What do the letters ESWL Stand for?

In a change reflective of the northeast-wide presence of the ESWL, the formerly known Bay State Wiffle League changed its name to the Easter States Wiffle League to accommodate teams from all over the Eastern States of the United States.

How can I play in the ESWL?

Each team is responsible for building their respective rosters. With that being said you may attend "Team Tryout Camps" or fill out our Free Agent form to be entered into the League Free Agency Portal. Players who complete that form and have not* played in the BSWL/ESWL before, will be automatically entered into a League geographic based Player Draft.

How many players can be rostered on a team?

As of 2022, each team can carry up to eleven (11) rostered players, but only seven (7) can be considered on the 'active roster' the remaining four (4) spots are to be utilized as; IL (Injured list), LTIR (long-term injured list), Inactive due to non-injury and, sub players.

When is the latest date for players to join teams?

The 2023 Trade Deadline date/Roster Lock day date is 'TBA'. On this day every team can complete their final trades and new player additions which allow those players to compete in the Commissioners Postseason. No un-rostered players may be eligible to join a team after this set date.

Where do ESWL games take place?

With the 2023 expansion, the ESWL fields of play will increase. Currently their are five (5) League official fields of play. (2 in the Bay State League / 3 in the Pine Tree League) The League is currently undergoing field approvals to allow for more fields across Massachusetts and Maine.

Does it cost to play in the ESWL?

Yes, each team is responsible for paying their team entry fee ($500.00). This amount is normally split up between the players of said teams.

How is the schedule formatted?

The 2023 season will feature a 42 game regular-season for each team. The regular-season will begin on Saturday May 13, 2023 and must be completed by Sunday August 6, 2023. The League has held Monday August 7 - Sunday August 13 for make-up games.
