Jaxx begin season with a sweep

Sunday -- The Diamond Jaxx begin their 2021 campaign with a sweep over the short-staffed Huskies.

The Diamond Jaxx offense showed up Sunday as they were able to put up 20 runs in just two games against new expansion team Huskies.

Game 1: DJ 14 HSK 6

A six-run first inning boosted the Diamond Jaxx's confidence going into their third season in the Bay State Wiffle League. New acquisition Zack Thompson proved his value in game one hitting a .800% and hit the only extra-base hit with a first-inning double. Justin Jenkinson started his season off on the right foot with a home run in game one. Matty O'Neil was a huge part of the offensive strike with a grand slam in the first inning and a complete game on the mound and allowed just 3 runs and 6 hits.

The Huskies lineup was missing some key parts such as pitcher Colin Prentiss and fierce batter Jeff Saramela. The Huskies were limited to Page, Phillips, Smith, Davidson, and a player loan from the Mallards; Vahey. Nathan Vahey started his season off on the right path hitting a 1.000 in game one and was the hitter for two RBI's

Game 2: DJ 6 HSK 2

Justin Jenkinson stayed hot going into game two of the series ending it with two home runs and 5 RBI's, as well as a win on the mound. Both Thompson and Matty O'Neil added home runs of their own and stayed above .500 in both games in the batter's box. The Huskies were limited to just two runs and only 4 hits in which came from just three players.
