Mallards acquire Wilde from Huskies
Beverly, MA -- The Huskies and Mallards have completed the league's first trade of the season. The Mallards have acquired F Austin Wilde from the Huskies in return for a 2024 1st & 2nd round-draft pick and cash considerations.
Wilde, 22 has began his rookie season on an extreme high note, batting a .667 and a top three OBP% of .727. The lefty batter has 6 RBI's and three home-runs while batting for currently winless (0-6) Huskies.
We feel we can win our division this year and this addition will boost our batting order hugely. We see a ton of potential in Austin and hope we can continue to build a Championship team. - Mallards GM Nathan Vahey said following the deal.
The Mallards front office seem to be willing to give up a ton of future players in sending over both a first and second round draft pick. Vahey also noted they are "not done yet" with trades this early on in the season.
