Screwballs crowned Champions
Monday -- The Screwballs defeat the Black Widows in Game four to win the League Championship with a 3-1 series final.
The Screwballs who finished with the best regular season record were also the favorites to win the Bay State Wiffle League Championship, and they did so Monday night. Sunday night the Screwballs took games two and three against the Widows who had all their bats active throughout the first three games, but it wasn't much the same Monday night when the Screwballs won the series finale by a score of 5-3, with Dan Haverty having a complete game on the mound.
The series was a close one but the big game changer for the Screwballs was Shawn Murphy, who has been named the Postseason MVP, he put up a .467 BA including two home-runs and 10 RBI's. He also recorded a 2-1 record on the mound in playoffs.
The Screwballs announced they will rebrand and become known as the High Rollers, but no one will forget what their team accomplished this season.
Tuesday night the Bay State Wiffle League staff will announce the Regular Season Awards.
